Greetings from unusually hot Maine! I'm up here for a busy weekend. A friend's wedding (well, two friends - one wedding). A 12 year high school reunion (yes, 12). And on top of that my dear sweet father has boxed up everything I left behind when I fled to DC 4 years ago. Which is why I drove up. That, and I like to drive alone for hours and hours over states and states. I'm funny like that.
It was an interesting drive, with a near-death experience somewhere around 2AM on the G.W. bridge into NYC. Traffic was rather heavy due to construction. The lanes were narrow however traffic didn't slow, and there was indeed lots of traffic. I was behind an 18 wheeler that slammed into the left barrier, snapping off a large metal guardrail that came flying at me. It landed in front of El Hefe (the Jeep) instead of decapitating me, and my trusty Grand Cherokee ran over it, slightly jarring me. I'm so glad I put skid plates on that thing, because that shit hit HARD! Again, saved by a Jeep.

Today was the stop the war / impeach Bush and Cheney march downtown (DC). My friend Ambur came along and got right into it. Pro war people are strange. That fine combination of remedial education and blind loyalty arm them with great debating skills. No. Not really. But they do smell funny. Oddly enough, the more "religious" they were, the more violent they acted. Quite sad. I'll post some video later. I'm backlogged on transferring video. I need an intern.
